Sunroof / Moonroof Motor: Testing and Inspection
SUNROOF MOTOR INSPECTION
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the following parts:
a. A-pillar trim A-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation
b. Front scuff plate inner Front Scuff Plate Removal/Installation
c. Rear scuff plate inner Rear Scuff Plate Removal/Installation
d. Front seat belt lower anchor installation bolt (driver-side) Front Seat Belt Removal/Installation
e. B-pillar lower trim B-Pillar Lower Trim Removal/Installation
f. Front seat belt upper anchor installation bolt Front Seat Belt Removal/Installation
g. B-pillar upper trim B-Pillar Upper Trim Removal/Installation
h. Trunk box
i. Seat side box Seat Side Box Removal/Installation
j. Trunk end trim Service and Repair
k. Third-row seat Rear - Third-Row Seat Removal/Installation
l. Third-row seat belt lower anchor installation bolt Third-Row Seat Belt Removal/Installation
m. Trunk side trim
n. Roof side trim Roof Side Trim Removal/Installation
o. Second-row seat belt upper anchor installation bolt Second-Row Seat Belt Removal/Installation
p. C-pillar trim C-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation
q. Third-row seat belt upper anchor installation bolt Third-Row Seat Belt Removal/Installation
r. D-pillar trim D-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation
s. Front map light Front Map Light Removal/Installation
t. Sunvisor Service and Repair
u. Assist handle Service and Repair
v. RES unit cover (Vehicles with RES) RES Unit Removal/Installation
w. Sunroof seaming welt.
x. Headliner. Service and Repair
y. Sunroof motor Service and Repair
3. Measure the voltage at each terminal.
- If not as specified, inspect the parts listed under "Inspection item" and the related wiring harnesses.
- If the parts and wiring harnesses are normal but the system still does not work properly, replace the sunroof motor. Service and Repair
