Windshield Washer Reservoir: Service and Repair






Windshield Washer Fluid Reservoir

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Reservoir

Removing





- Remove wiper arms. Refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Arms ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the luggage compartment seal - 2 - in the bumper trim area.

- Loosen the quick-release fasteners - 1 and 4 -.

- Pull the bumper trim - 3 - up - arrow A -. This releases the retaining tabs - arrows -.

- Remove the rubber strip - 2 -.





- Loosen the quick-release fasteners - arrows -.

- Remove the headlamp/wheel housing trim - 1 - from the retaining groove in the luggage compartment liner and guide it out at the front lid hinge.

- Loosen the quick-release fasteners - 1 -.





CAUTION!
There is a risk of damaging the cowl panel trim.

Coat the space between the windshield and the cowl grille trim with some soapy water.

- Remove the cowl panel trim - 4 - by carefully pulling it off the edge of the windshield upward vertically from the clamping strip - A arrows -.

- Disengage the bottom of the front lid gas-filled struts - 2 and 3 -.

- Raise the retaining spring - 2 - with a small screwdriver - 1 - - arrow - and remove the gas-filled strut - 3 - from the ball studs.





- Remove the cowl panel trim back out of the retaining grove in the luggage compartment liner - arrow B -.





- Remove the nuts - arrows - on the washer fluid reservoir.





- Disconnect the connectors - 2, 5 and 8 -.

- Pull the washer fluid reservoir - 1 - up slightly and place the collecting container below.

- Release the securing clip - 6 - and remove the washer fluid line - 7 - from the headlamp washer system pump.

- Release the securing clip - 4 - and remove the washer fluid line - 3 - from the windshield washer system pump.

- Remove the washer fluid reservoir upward.

Installing

Tightening specification => [ Washer fluid reservoir tightening
specifications ] Washer Fluid Reservoir, Washer Fluid Lines Assembly Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Install the trim.

- Adjust wiper arms. Refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Arms, Adjusting ] Adjustments.
