Disassembly and Assembly






Air Intake Unit

=> [ Air Intake Unit Air Doors ]

Various identical connectors are installed in the air intake unit. Mark the electrical connectors before disconnecting them (they could become mixed up).

Various control motors are installed on the A/C unit and in the air intake unit. They have different electrical values and are different in the part number index. Mark the control motors before removing them (so they are not switched).





1 Seal

Between the rear of the plenum chamber and the air intake unit.

2 Air Intake Unit Housing With Air Doors

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Intake Unit ] Air Intake Unit.

Air Intake Unit Air Doors, removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Intake Unit Air Doors ].

3 Air Intake Unit Wiring Harness

Ensure routing is correct.

Mark the connector before disconnecting it.

4 Recirculation Door Motor (V113)

With the Recirculation Door Motor Position Sensor (G143).

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Recirculation Door Motor ] Service and Repair.

5 Screw

Tightening specification 1 Nm.

6 Screw

Tightening specification 1 Nm.

7 Fresh Air Blower Control Module (J126)

Check using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fresh Air Blower Control Module ] Fresh Air Blower Control Module.

8 Lever

9 Air Intake Unit Upper Cover

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Intake Unit Upper Cover ] Air Intake Unit Upper Cover.

10 Water Drain Channel

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Intake Unit Upper Cover ] Air Intake Unit Upper Cover.

11 Screw

Tightening specification 1 Nm.

12 Screw

Tightening specification 1 Nm.

13 Water Channel

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Intake Unit Upper Cover ] Air Intake Unit Upper Cover.

14 Fresh Air Blower (V2)

CAUTION!
Do not hold the fresh air blower (V2) fan wheel. Putting pressure on the fan wheel or sliding the balancing weight on it can cause an imbalance and lead to problems during operation.

Check using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding" function.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fresh Air Blower ] Service and Repair.

15 Screw

Tightening specification 1 Nm.

16 Screw

Tightening specification 1 Nm.

17 Air Flow Door Motor (V71)

With the Back Pressure Door Motor Position Sensor (G113)

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Air Flow Door Motor with Position Sensor ] Service and Repair.

18 Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89)

On the Audi R8, the fresh air intake duct temperature sensor is not included in the electrical evaluation.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor ] Temperature Sensors.

19 Seal

For the air duct.

20 Air Guide

Removing and installing, refer to=> [ Air Intake Unit Upper Cover ] Air Intake Unit Upper Cover.

21 Screw

Tightening specification 1 Nm.

22 Grille in Front Of Fresh Air Intake

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fresh Air Intake Grille ] Fresh Air Intake Grille.

23 Plastic Piece

To reduce the diameter of the water drain.

24 Air Intake Unit Water Drain Hose

Water that enters the fresh air intake in the air intake unit drains here.

A plastic piece - item 23 - is inserted in the water drain hose to reduce the diameter.

Connecting point between the inner cover and the air intake unit housing.

2 Back Pressure/Fresh Air Door 1

3 Back Pressure/Fresh Air Door 2

4 Recirculated Air Door

5 Inner Cover

Connecting point between the inner cover and the air intake unit housing.

6 Screws

7 Lever

8 Lever

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Cover with Air Intake Unit Door ] Service and Repair.

9 Connecting Element With Lever
