Air Intake Unit Upper Cover

Removing





- Switch off ignition.

- Remove the air intake unit, refer to => [ Air Intake Unit ] Air Intake Unit.

- Remove bolts - D -.

- Remove the water drain channel - E - and the water channel - C -.

- Remove the bolts - A - and air duct - B -.

The illustration shows the air intake unit installed.

- Remove bolts - A -.





- Remove the upper cover - B -.

Installing





Installation is done is reverse order, observe the following:

- Before installing the air intake unit upper cover, make sure the electrical connectors - C through F - and the grommet - B - are seated correctly and the wiring harness - A - is routed correctly.

- Install the air intake unit upper cover - B -.





- Tighten the bolts - A - by hand (10 Ncm).

- Clip the water channel - B - to the air intake unit.





- Tighten the air duct bolts - A -.

Tightening specification: 1 Nm.

- The adhesive surfaces in the water drain channel area - D - must be free of dirt and grease.

- Remove adhesive residue if necessary and clean the contact surfaces with Cleaning solution (D 009 401 04).

- Remove the water drain channel protective film.

- Position the water drain channel according to the threaded bolt holds.

- Press the entire surface of the water drain channel onto the air intake unit - arrow - and tighten the bolts - C -.

Tightening specification: 1 Nm.

- Install the air intake unit, refer to => [ Air Intake Unit ] Air Intake Unit.

After finishing the repairs, perform the following work on the Climatronic Control Module (J255) using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

- Check the DTC memory and erase any malfunctions shown.

- Perform the basic setting.

- Perform the output diagnostic test mode.
