Intake Connection with Electrical EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve and Potentiometer
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Wet and dry vacuum (VAS 5128)
• Brush with plastic bristles
Disassembling
- Remove the intake connection together with the EGR potentiometer (G212) with the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve (N18)=> [ Intake Connection with Electrical EGR Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve and Potentiometer ] Removal and Replacement.
- Carefully remove the bolts - 1 - and the EGR potentiometer (G212) together with the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve (N18) - 2 - from the intake connection - 4 -
- Use a brush with plastic bristles to clean the rusty surfaces on the exhaust gas return valve seat. Then remove loose rust with a cloth.
- Line inner intake manifold with a lint free cloth to protect against soot particles.
- Clean the exhaust gas return valve seat in the intake manifold using a brush with plastic bristles and a cloth. Make sure no rust particles get into the intake manifold.
- Take the cloth out of the intake manifold and clean the intake manifold with a wet and dry vacuum (VAS 5128) if necessary.
Assembling
- Replace O-ring - 3 -.
- Carefully mount the EGR potentiometer (G212) together with the EGR vacuum regulator solenoid valve (N18) - 2 - into the intake manifold seat - 4 - and tighten the bolts - 1 - to 10 Nm.
