BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
NOTICE:
Turn the ignition switch off before removing parts.
HINT
* If no abnormality is found when inspecting parts, inspect the skid control ECU and ground points for poor contact.
* If a trouble code is displayed during the DTC check, check the circuit indicated by the DTC. For details of each code, refer for the respective "DTC Code" in the DTC chart.
* When 2 or more DTCs are detected, perform circuit inspection one by one until the problem is identified.
* Inspect the fuse and relay before investigating the trouble areas as shown in the table below.
ABS System
C0226-C1381:
C1401-C1416:
C1417-C1442 / U0073-U0124:

Even after the trouble areas are repaired, the ABS warning light will not go off unless the following operations are performed:
* *1:
* Drive the vehicle at 20 km/h (12 mph) for 30 seconds or more and check that the ABS warning light goes off.
* Clear the DTC.
* *2:
* Keep the vehicle stationary for 5 seconds or more and depress the brake pedal lightly 2 or 3 times.
* Drive the vehicle at a vehicle speed of 50 km/h (31 mph) and keep depressing the brake pedal strongly for approximately 3 seconds.
* Repeat the above operation 3 times or more and check that the ABS warning light goes off.
* Clear the DTC.
HINT
In some cases, the tester cannot be used when the ABS warning light remains on.
