MFI #5 No Signal GND

Fault Message Conditions:





The fault message is logged if voltage is above 1.2 V.

Causes of fault:

Break at the GND point on the intake manifold.

Fault symptoms:

If the break is intermittent the engine will stop or run rough.

MFI #17 No Power GND

Fault Message Conditions:

The fault message is logged if voltage is above 1.2 V. when engine speed is below 2500 rpm.

Causes of fault:

Break at the GND point on the intake manifold.

Fault symptoms:

The engine will not start.

If the break is intermittent the engine will stop or run rough.

-Disconnect the ST in accordance with QA2. Connecting The Volvo Scan Tool (ST)

-Connect the test box to MFI and check the GND points in accordance with P1-P2. Check the MFI#5 and MFI#17 very carefully.

-Continue with Checking the GND points TD2.

If the reading Is OK when checking the GND points:

Intermittent fault.

-Check the GND point and connections to it for loose contacts.
