ABS Hydraulic Modulator Assembly

Hydraulic modulator assembly

WARNING! The ABS modulator assembly is capable of "self-pressurizing" up to 210 bar (3045 p.s.i). Serious injury may result if you service the unit without properly depressurizing it. Depress brake pedal 25 to 35 times with ignition switch in OFF position to depressurize system.





1 - Hydraulic modulator
removing/installing, ABS Hydraulic Modulator, Removing/Installing
2 - Brake line connection
for right brake caliper
3 - Brake line connection
for left brake caliper
4 - Brake line connection
for brake pressure regulator
5 - Pressure regulator valve
opens to rear axle starting at 8 bar cannot be checked in shop
6 - Cap
7 - Brake fluid reservoir
8 - Sleeve
always replace
9 - O-ring
always replace
10 - Sealing plug
always replace
11 - Reservoir mounting retainer
always replace
12 - 10 Nm (7 ft lb)
13 - Pressure accumulator
45 Nm (33 ft lb)
coat O-ring with brake fluid before installing
14 - O-ring
always replace
coat with brake fluid before installing accumulator
15 - Brake line
pump to modulator
16 - Hydraulic pump
17 - Connecting hose
18 - Pressure warning switch
25 Nm (18 ft lb)
coat O-ring with brake fluid before installing
19 - 0-ring
always replace
20 - Bracket
21 - 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
22 - 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
23 - Seal
