ABS Hydraulic Modulator, Removing/Installing
Hydraulic modulator, removing/installingRemoving
^ switch off ignition and press brake pedal approximately 20 time to reduce accumulator pressure
^ disconnect battery ground strap
^ remove all cable terminals on ABS unit and remove ground connection
^ drain brake fluid from the reservoir with a suction bottle
^ remove brake lines from ABS unit and seal threaded bores with suitable plugs
^ remove left shelf under instrument panel
^ remove pin and clip from pushrod clevis
^ remove lock nuts on hydraulic modulator and remove unit
Installing
^ installation is conducted in reverse order of removal procedure
Tightening torques
Hydraulic modulator to cross panel 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
(new self locking nuts used)
Brake lines to hydraulic modulator 15 Nm (11 ft lb)
