Checking Speed Limit Switch

Note:
Speed limit switch is used only on California vehicles.
Switch limits full throttle enrichment unless engine speed is greater that 3000 rpm.

Work sequence






- Connect positive lead (+) of voltmeter to switch terminal 8 and negative lead (-) to switch terminal 6
- Start engine and accelerate to approx. 3000 rpm
Voltmeter must indicate battery voltage

If NO, replace speed limit switch
