3UR-FE STARTING: STARTER:

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the flywheel housing side cover.





(b) Install the starter with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 37 Nm (377 kgf-cm, 27 ft-lbf)





(c) Install the starter wire with the nut.
Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)
(d) Connect the starter connector.
2. INSTALL STARTER COVER





(a) Install the starter cover with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 9 ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (Installation)

4. INSTALL NO. 1 EXHAUST MANIFOLD HEAT INSULATOR (Installation)

5. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install a new gasket and the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold RH with 3 new nuts.
Torque: 54 Nm (551 kgf-cm, 40 ft-lbf)
(b) Install a new gasket and the exhaust pipe to the center exhaust pipe with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 48 Nm (489 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf)
(c) Connect the air fuel ratio sensor connector.
(d) Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector and 2 clamps.
6. INSTALL ENGINE OIL LEVEL DIPSTICK GUIDE
(a) Apply a light coat of engine oil to a new O-ring.





(b) Install the O-ring to the guide.
(c) Install the dipstick guide with the bolt.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
(d) Install the dipstick.
7. INSTALL GENERATOR ASSEMBLY





(a) Install the generator with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Torque: 43 Nm (439 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)





(b) Connect the generator connector.
(c) Connect the generator wire with the nut.
Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)
(d) Install the terminal cap.





(e) Install the harness bracket to the generator with the bolt.
Torque: 31 Nm (316 kgf-cm, 23 ft-lbf)
8. CONNECT VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY





HINT: Before performing the following procedures, move the spacer until the vane pump can be installed.





(a) Connect the vane pump to the timing chain cover with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 28 Nm (286 kgf-cm, 21 ft-lbf)





(b) Connect the 2 clamps and power steering oil pressure switch connector.
9. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH (Installation)

10. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT (Installation)

11. INSTALL AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY (Installation)

12. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY (Installation)

13. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (Installation)

14. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER (Replacement)

15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTE: Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Repair Instruction - Initialization).
