Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Remove the rear compartment convenience net and retainers. Refer to Compartment Convenience Net Replacement - Rear (Compartment Convenience Net Replacement - Rear).
3. Remove the OnStar vehicle communication unit (VCU) if equipped.Refer to OnStar Vehicle Communication Unit Replacement in Cellular Communications.




4. Remove the rear compartment mat from the rear compartment.




5. Remove the spare tire cover from the rear compartment.
6. Remove the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement (Service and Repair).
7. Remove the rear compartment trim panel to rear compartment retainers located near the rear compartment lid lock striker.
8. If equipped with rear split folding seats, remove the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement (Stationary Seatback) (Rear Seat Back Replacement (Stationary Seatback))Rear Seat Back Replacement (Split Folding Seatback) (Rear Seat Back Replacement (Split Folding Seatback)) in Seats.
9. Fold the left and right side of the rear compartment trim panel toward the center of the rear compartment.




10. Fold the rear of the rear compartment trim panel toward the center of the rear compartment.
11. Remove the left and right side of the rear compartment trim panel from the vehicle.


Installation Procedure




1. Align the left rear compartment trim panel to the vehicle.
2. Align the right rear compartment trim panel to the vehicle.
3. Apply pressure to the left, right and rear of the rear compartment trim panel until fully seated.
4. Install the rear compartment trim panel to rear compartment retainers located near the rear compartment lid lock striker.
5. Install the rear compartment sill plate. Refer to Rear Compartment Sill Trim Plate Replacement (Service and Repair).




6. Install the spare tire cover to the rear compartment.




7. Install the rear compartment mat to the rear compartment.
8. If equipped with rear split folding seats, install the rear seat back. Refer to Rear Seat Back Replacement (Stationary Seatback) (Rear Seat Back Replacement (Stationary Seatback))Rear Seat Back Replacement (Split Folding Seatback) (Rear Seat Back Replacement (Split Folding Seatback)) in Seats.
9. Install the OnStar vehicle communication unit (VCU) if equipped. Refer to OnStar Vehicle Communication Unit Replacement in Cellular Communications.
10. Install the rear compartment convenience net and retainers. Refer to Compartment Convenience Net Replacement - Rear (Compartment Convenience Net Replacement - Rear).
11. Close the rear compartment lid.
