Antenna, Radio: Testing and Inspection

ROOF ANTENNA INSPECTION

NOTE:
- The roof antenna has a built-in antenna amplifier.

Antenna Amplifier Inspection

1. Remove the rear header trim. Rear Header Trim Removal/Installation

2. Switch the ignition ON.

3. Turn the audio unit power to ON.

4. Tune in the radio.

5. Verify that voltage is B+ at the roof antenna terminal A.






- If the battery voltage cannot be verified, inspect the audio unit and antenna feeder.
- If the battery voltage can be verified, go to the feeder line inspection.

Feeder Line Inspection

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the following parts:
a. Front scuff plate Front Scuff Plate Removal/Installation

b. Rear scuff plate Rear Scuff Plate Removal/Installation

c. B-pillar lower trim B-Pillar Lower Trim Removal/Installation

d. Adjuster anchor cover Front Seat Belt Removal/Installation

e. Upper anchor of the front seat belt Front Seat Belt Removal/Installation

f. B-pillar upper trim B-Pillar Upper Trim Removal/Installation

g. Sub-trunk Sub-Trunk Removal/Installation

h. Trunk end trim Trunk End Trim Removal/Installation

i. Third-row seat Rear - Third-Row Seat Removal/Installation

j. Third-row seat belt lower anchor installation bolt Third-Row Seat Belt Removal/Installation

k. Cargo compartment light Service and Repair

l. Trunk side trim

m. Second-row seat belt upper anchor installation bolt Second-Row Seat Belt Removal/Installation

n. C-pillar trim C-Pillar Trim Removal/Installation

o. Assist handle Service and Repair

p. Roof antenna Service and Repair

3. Verify that there is no continuity between the roof antenna terminals A, C and E (with AM/FM/SIRIUS type only) using an ohmmeter.
AM/FM type





AM/FM/SIRIUS type






- If there is continuity, replace the roof antenna.

4. Install the roof antenna. Service and Repair

5. Inspect for continuity between the roof antenna terminals using an ohmmeter.
AM/FM type





AM/FM/SIRIUS type






- If the continuity is not as indicated in the table, verify the roof antenna installation nut and antenna rod installation condition.
AM/FM type





AM/FM/SIRIUS type





- If the roof antenna installation nut and antenna rod installation condition is normal, replace the roof antenna.
