Door Switch: Testing and Inspection
Driver's Door Jamb Switch1. Open the driver's door and note whether the interior lamps light. They should light.
If OK, see the diagnosis for:
ignition Key Reminder Switch Testing and Inspection
or Headlamp Reminder. Testing and Inspection
If not OK, go to step 2.
2. Check for continuity between the ground circuit cavity of the driver's door jamb switch connector and a good ground. There should be continuity.
If OK, go to step 3.
If not OK, repair the circuit to ground as required.
3. Check for continuity between the ground circuit terminal and each of the two courtesy lamps driver terminals of the door jamb switch.
There should be continuity with the switch plunger released and no continuity with the switch plunger depressed.
If OK, test complete.
If not OK, replace the faulty switch.
