CONDITION SUMMARY:

FRONT SEAT WILL NOT MOVE IN RESPONSE TO CONTROLS

Situation:
A customer may report a concern of no movement of the driver or passenger front seat, in any direction. A seat module ignoring the "wake-up" request may be the cause.

Action:
Should this concern be verified, refer to the Repair Procedure detailed in this bulletin to reconfigure the Driver Seat Module (DSM) and the Passenger Seat Module (PSM) using the Integrated Diagnostic System (IDS).

REPAIR PROCEDURE

RECONFIGURE DRIVER SEAT MODULE (DSM) AND PASSENGER SEAT MODULE (PSM)

NOTE:
This procedure requires IDS DVD103 software or later.

CAUTION:
A Midtronics PSC-550 Vehicle Power Supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during diagnosis and module configuration.

1. Connect the Midtronics PSC-550 power supply to the vehicle battery.

2. Connect IDS to the vehicle and begin a new diagnostic session, by entering the correct VIN for the current vehicle.

3. Follow the IDS prompts to read the vehicle configuration.

NOTE:
Any associated diagnostic routines should be carried out as a separate Warranty claim.

4. Carry out any associated diagnostic routines and clear any fault codes.

5. When prompted 'Do you wish to read diagnostic trouble codes?', select 'NO' and then press 'tick' to continue.

6. When the 'Content Model' is displayed select 'Vehicle Configuration' tab.

7. From the 'Vehicle Configuration Menu' select 're-configure existing modules'.

8. From the sub-menu select 'DSM' and allow the module re-configuration to be completed.

9. From the sub-menu select 'PSM' and allow the module re-configuration to be completed.

10. Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

11. When the task is completed, exit the current session.

12. Disconnect IDS and the power supply from the vehicle.
