Fig. 10 Differential Removal From Case:

1. Remove transaxle from vehicle, refer to TRANSAXLE.
2. Remove differential cover to case attaching bolts.
3. Remove left and right side output shaft O-rings.
4. Pull differential cover from case. Do not pry cover off.
5. Using a hammer and a suitable drift, remove left output shaft seal from differential cover.
6. Using seal installer tool No. 6184 or equivalent and a suitable driver handle, install new left output shaft seal. Coat seal lip with petroleum jelly.
7. Remove differential and output shaft assembly from case, Fig. 10.
8. Using internal-type puller tool No. 7839 or equivalent and a slide hammer, remove right output shaft seal.
9. Using seal installer tool No. 6185 or equivalent, install right output shaft seal. Coat seal lip with petroleum jelly.
10. Install differential and shaft assembly in case. Do not damage output shaft seal during differential installation.
11. Install new O-ring on right output shaft.
12. Install differential cover and attaching bolts. Torque bolts to 150 inch lbs.
13. Install new O-ring on left output shaft.
14. Install transaxle, refer to TRANSAXLE.
