SUBJECT:
MIL Illumination P0117 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Or P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit High
OVERVIEW:
The customer may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find the following DTC's P0117 (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit Low) or P0118 (Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit High) have been set active or stored.

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 2.4L engine (sales code ED3).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Raise the hood and remove engine cover.
2. Remove the brake booster vacuum hoses from brake booster to intake manifold being careful not damage temp sensor wire, lift wire harness prior to removing vacuum hoses to prevent damage (Fig. 1) and (Fig. 2).
NOTE:
Inspect temperature sensor wiring for damage and repair if required.
3. Route new vacuum hose part number 04743837AE as shown in (Fig. 3).
4. Install new hose to intake manifold part number 04743859AC and clip to fuel line as shown in (Fig. 4) and (Fig. 5)
5. Install engine cover.
