Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure





Caution: Refer to Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution Sensing and Diagnostic Module Handling Caution.

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution Battery Disconnect Caution.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6 SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6.
2. Remove the trim from the center pillar.
3. Remove the side impact sensor mounting bolts.
4. Remove the side impact sensor.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the side impact sensor.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice Fastener Notice.

2. Install the side impact sensor mounting bolts.

Tighten the side impact sensor mounting bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).

3. Install the trim on the center pillar.
4. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 2 or SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6 SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 6.
