Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Catalyst Configuration:

Exhaust System:

Remove or Disconnect:
1. Raise and support vehicle
2. Remove exhaust crossover pipe nuts
3. Remove exhaust crossover pipe from studs on manifold assembly
4. Remove exhaust pipe bolts/screws
5. Remove catalytic converter hanger bolts/screws
6. Remove converter assembly

Install or Connect:
1. Install converter assembly to hanger assembly
2. Tighten converter hanger bolts
Torque Value: 41 N-m (30 lb.ft.)
3. Connect exhaust pipe to converter and tighten bolts
Torque Value: 20 N-m (15 lb.ft.)
4. Connect crossover pipe to studs to exhaust manifold assembly and tighten nuts
Torque Value: 35 N-m (26 lb.ft.)
5. Lower vehicle
