Drive Belt: Service and Repair

Serpentine Drive Belt Tensioner:

NOTICE: Care should be taken to avoid twisting or bending the tensioner when applying torque. Damage to belt tensioner may occur.

Remove or Disconnect

1 Coolant reservoir.
2. Rotate the tensioner (clockwise) with a 15 mm wrench as shown in the illustration and slide belt from generator pulley. Release tensioner and remove belt.

Install or Connect

1. Route belt as shown in Figure 7, rotate the tensioner clockwise and slide belt onto generator pulley.

Inspect
^ Tensioner indicator mark. It should be within the nominal range as shown in the illustration.

2. Coolant reservoir.
