Front Cover:

Oil Filter Adapter And Oil Pressure Valve:

INSTALL OR CONNECT
If front cover has been replaced assemble:
- Oil filter adapter and pressure valve.
- Oil pump assembly to cover.
- Coolant pump and new gasket. Refer to Coolant Pump. Service and Repair

NOTE: Oil pan bolts can be loosened and pan dropped slightly for front cover clearance.

1. New gasket.
- Make sure not to damage sealing surfaces.
2. Apply sealer GM PIN 1052080 or equivalent to bolt threads.
3. New seal.
4. Front cover on the engine; install upper cover bolts.
- Tighten bolts to 30 Nm (22 lbs. ft.).
5. Raise vehicle.
6. Oil pan to front cover bolts, and oil pan bolts if loosened.
- Tighten bolts to 14 Nm (124 lbs. in.).
7. Sensor shield and electrical connections.
8. Crankshaft balancer.
- Tighten to 150 Nm (110 lbs. ft.). Refer to Crankshaft Balancer. Service and Repair

9. Oil cooler lines.
10. Oil filter.
11. Lower vehicle.
12. Coolant pump pulley.
13. Lower radiator hose.
14. Bypass hose.
15. Heater hoses and pipe to cover.
16. Generator and brace.
17. Engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling. Service and Repair
18. Fill crankcase with clean engine oil.
19. Negative battery cable.
- Tighten bolt to 15 Nm (11 lbs. ft.).
20. Inspect for proper fluid levels and leaks.
