Oil Filter
Removing
• General repair information. Refer to => [ General Repair Information ] General Repair Information.
• Rules of cleanliness for working on transmissions. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.
- Remove the oil pan. Refer to => [ Oil Pan ] Service and Repair.
- Carefully remove oil filter - A - from the transmission.
Installing
Install in the reverse sequence; note the following points:
• The filter only requires replacement when it is damaged.
If the oil filter is replaced, observe the following
- If present, carefully remove the oil filter seal - A - from the transmission, e.g. with a screwdriver.
• Do not damage sealing surface.
• The seal is shown with the mechatronic unit removed to provide a better illustration.
• The new filter is supplied with the seal in place.
Continuation for new and old filters
- Carefully press oil filter intake tube - A - into the opening in the transmission until fully seated.
• A new oil filter with attached seal is pressed into the transmission.
- Install the oil pan. Refer to => [ Oil Pan ] Service and Repair.
