Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair






Air Cleaner Resonator

Removing

- Disconnect the negative battery.

- Remove the engine cover (1).






- Disengage the retainer (2) from the upper intake manifold and remove the fresh air makeup hose (1).






- Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) sensor.






- Loosen the clamp (1) and remove the hose from the resonator.

- Remove the push pin (3).






- Disengage the power steering hose retainer (1) from the resonator.

- Pull the resonator straight up off of the two locating pins on the right cylinder head cover. Disengage and remove the resonator from the throttle body inlet.

Installing

- Lubricate the two rubber mount sockets on the resonator with rubber bushing installation lube.

- Install the resonator to the throttle body inlet. Push the resonator down onto the two locating pins on the right cylinder head cover until the rubber mount sockets are fully seated.

- Engage the power steering hose retainer (1) to the resonator.






- Install the push pin (3).






- Install the hose to the resonator and tighten the clamp (1) to 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.).

- Connect the electrical connector (2) to the Inlet Air Temperature (IAT) sensor.

- Install the fresh air makeup hose (1) and engage the retainer (2) to the upper intake manifold.






- Install engine cover (1).






- Connect the negative battery cable.
