Oil Pressure Relief Valve

Removing

- Remove the oil pan. Refer to => [ Oil Pan ] Removal and Replacement.

- Drill a 3.175 mm (1/8 in.) hole in the center of the retainer cap. Insert a self-threading sheet metal screw into the cap.

- Using suitable pliers, remove and discard the cap.

- Remove the spring and pressure relief valve.

Installing

- Clean the relief valve, spring and bore.

• Lubricate the relief valve with clean engine oil before installing.

- Install the pressure relief valve and spring into the housing.

- Install the new retainer cap until its flush with the sealing surface.

- Install the oil pan. Refer to=> [ Oil Pan ] Removal and Replacement.

- Fill the crankcase with the proper oil to the correct level.
