Air Injection Vacuum Control Solenoid Valve: Service and Repair






Secondary Air Injection Solenoid Valve, with Engine Code CBFA

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench 5-50 Nm (VAG 1331)

Removing

To perform this procedure, the ground cable must be disconnected from the battery. Check whether a coded radio is installed. If so, obtain the anti theft code beforehand.

- Remove the engine cover. Refer to --> [ Engine Cover ] Engine Cover.

- Remove the air filter. Refer to --> [ Air Filter ] Air Filter.

CAUTION!
Risk of destroying electrical components when battery is disconnected:

Observe measures when disconnecting battery.

- With the ignition turned off, disconnect the ground cable - arrow - from the battery..





- Remove the battery, battery tray bolts - arrows - and tray.





- Disconnect the electrical connector - A - and the line - B - from the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) solenoid valve.





Press the securing ring to disengage the line.

- Loosen the coolant pipe by removing the bolts - arrows -.





- Remove the bolts - arrows - and remove the AIR solenoid valve.





Installing

Tightening specifications, refer to --> [ Secondary Air Injection System Assembly Overview, with Engine Code
CBFA ] Service and Repair.

Install in reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:

Replace the sealing ring.

- Observe the notes after connecting the battery.
