Drive Plate
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Flywheel Lock Adapter (VW 558)
• Torque Wrench (40-200 Nm) (V.A.G 1332)
• Caliper Gauge
• M8 x 50 Bolt and Three M12 Nuts
Drive Plate, Loosening and Tightening
- Install the flywheel lock adapter (VW 558) with the M8 x 50 bolt to the drive plate. Insert three M12 nuts between the flywheel lock adapter and the drive plate. Installed location of the flywheel lock adapter: - A - to loosen; - B - to tighten
Drive Plate, Installing
- Install the drive plate using a washer => [ (Item 8) Washer ] Description and Operation.
- Install the new bolts and tighten them to 30 Nm.
- Using a caliper gauge, check the distance between drive plate and cylinder block. Specified dimension - a -: 19.0... 20.6 mm.
If the specification is not obtained:
- Remove the drive plate again and insert a shim between the crankshaft and drive plate. Tighten the bolts again to 30 Nm.
- Tighten the bolts to 50 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn (the additional turn may occur in several stages).
