Cables, Installing And Adjusting






Note:
- First attach cables to removed controls and then adjust heater levers and secure.
- Ends of sleeves on cables which are marked with color stripes must be secured to the controls.
- Position sleeve of cables to controls and then secure.
- After You installed the controls, adjust cables at the levers of the flaps.
- When you turn the knobs to their stops, you must be able to hear all flaps close.


1 - Cable for main shut-off flap
- From blower control knob to main shut-off flap
- Black sleeve, length 771 mm (3.04 in.)
- White color stripe
- Cable for main shut-off flap, adjusting ~ Fig. 1
2 - Cable for temperature flap
- From temperature control knob to temperature flap
- Blue sleeve, length 535 mm (2.10 in.)
- White color stripe
- Cable for temperature flap, adjusting ~ Fig. 2
3 - Cable for footwell and defrost flap
- From air distribution control knob to footwell and defrost flap
To VIN 31 KE 206 000
- Black sleeve length 870 mm (3.43 in.)
- White color stripe
- Cable for footwell and defrost flap, installing ~ Fig. 5
- Cable for footwell and defrost flap, adjusting ~ Fig. 3
From VIN 31 KE 206 000 intermitted introduction:
- Black sleeve! length 894 mm (3.52.in.)
- Blue color stripe
- Cable for footwell and defrost flap, adjusting ~ Fig. 3
4 - Cable for center flap
- From air distribution control knob to center flap
- Black sleeve, length 634 mm (2.5 in.)
- Cable for center flap, adjusting ~ Fig. 4

Fig. 1 Cable For Main Shut-off Flap, Adjusting:

- Install heated air and fresh air controls.
- Turn fan control knob to position "0" to stop.
- Push main shut-off flap lever in direction of arrow to stop and secure cable sleeve.

Fig. 2 Cable For Temperature Flap, Adjusting:

- Install heated air and fresh air controls.
- Turn temperature control knob to position "cold" to stop.
- Push temperature flap lever in direction of arrow to stop and secure blue cable sleeve.

Fig. 3 Cable For Footwell And Defrost Flap, Adjusting:

- Install heater and fresh air controls.
- Turn air distribution control knob to position "defrost" to stop.
- Push footwell and defrost flap lever in direction of arrow to stop and secure black cable sleeve.

- Install heater and fresh air controls.
- Turn air distribution control knob to position "defrost" to stop
- Push center flap lever in direction of arrow to stop and secure black cable sleeve.

Fig. 5 Cable For Footwell And Defrost Flap, Installing:

A new cable with longer sleeve and changed identification is being installed between controls and footwell and defrost flap to prevent kinking of the cable.

Note: To install the new cable, a change at the controls is necessary.

- At the controls cut off stop for the sleeve -arrow- with a knife.
- Install new cable to the controls and footwell and defrost flap and secure (the end marked with a blue color stripe must be at the control end).



- Secure sleeve of cable to the controls at the blue color stripe area -1-.
- Secure cable at upper lever.
- Turn air distribution control knob to position "defrost" to stop.
- Push cable onto lever.
- Push footwell and defrost flap lever in direction of arrow to stop and secure black cable sleeve.
