U660E AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL
NOTICE:
If automatic transmission parts are replaced, refer to Parts Replacement Compensation Table to determine if any additional operations are necessary Service Precautions.
1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
Removal
2. REMOVE FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY Removal
3. REMOVE TCM Removal
4. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER
(a) Disconnect the breather plug and remove the clamp.
(b) Remove the No. 4 water by-pass hose.
(c) Remove the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose and No. 1 oil cooler inlet hose.

(d) Remove the 2 bolts and transmission oil cooler with the transmission oil cooler stay from the automatic transaxle assembly.
5. SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS
(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the connector and 7 clamps from the automatic transaxle assembly.
6. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Using the transmission jack attachment, set the automatic transaxle assembly on a transmission jack.
NOTICE:
* Secure the automatic transaxle assembly to the transmission jack using a suitable adapter, such as a rope or attachment.
* To prevent the oil pan from deforming, do not place any attachments onto the oil pan of the automatic transaxle assembly.
* Hold the engine assembly with a suitable adapter, such as a rope, during the operation.
(b) Remove the 11 bolts and transaxle.
NOTICE:
To prevent damage to the knock pins, do not pry between the transaxle and engine.
7. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET
(a) Remove the 3 bolts and front engine mounting bracket.
8. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
(a) Remove the 5 bolts and 5 clamp brackets.
9. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 transmission control cable bracket from the automatic transaxle assembly.
10. REMOVE SPEEDOMETER DRIVEN HOLE (ATM) COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the bolt and speedometer driven hole (ATM) cover sub-assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly.
(b) Remove the O-ring from the speedometer driven hole (ATM) cover sub-assembly.
11. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the torque converter assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly.
