2GR-FE FUEL: FUEL PUMP ECU: REMOVAL
1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Service Precautions.
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.
3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT
4. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE BAGGAGE HOLDER NET (w/ Partition Net) Removal
6. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE Removal
7. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK Removal
8. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER LH Removal
9. REMOVE FUEL PUMP CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the connector and clamp from the fuel pump control ECU assembly.
(b) Remove the 2 nuts and fuel pump control ECU assembly.
NOTICE:
Do not reuse the fuel pump control ECU if it has been dropped or subjected to a severe impact.
HINT
If a malfunction such as pump lock occurs and the fuel pump is damaged, excessive current may be continuously applied to the fuel pump control ECU, damaging its internal parts. Make sure to replace the fuel pump control ECU at the same time when replacing the fuel pump.
