C1AE9 - Rear Right Sensor Malfunction
DESCRIPTION
The No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear right sensor) is installed on the rear bumper. The ECU detects obstacles based on signals received from the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear right sensor). If the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear right sensor) has an open circuit or other malfunction, it will not function normally.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
If DTCs are output after repairs, turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the clearance sonar main switch on. Then clear the DTCs Intuitive Parking Assist System.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK DTC OUTPUT
(a) Check for DTCs Intuitive Parking Assist System.
Result:
B -- GO TO DTC (C1AED) C1AED
C -- USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK How To Proceed With Troubleshooting
A -- Continue to next step.
2. REPLACE NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (REAR RIGHT SENSOR)
(a) Replace the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor (rear right sensor) with a known good one Removal.
HINT
All of the sensors are interchangeable. To confirm whether a sensor is functioning normally, switch it with a known good sensor from the other end of the vehicle.

3. CHECK DTC OUTPUT
(a) Clear the DTCs Intuitive Parking Assist System.
(b) Check for DTCs Intuitive Parking Assist System.
Result:
NG -- REPLACE CLEARANCE WARNING ECU ASSEMBLY Removal
OK -- END (REAR RIGHT SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE)
