P0657 - Actuator Supply Voltage Circuit / Open

DESCRIPTION

The ECM monitors the output voltage to the throttle actuator. This self-check ensures that the ECM is functioning properly. The output voltage is usually 0 V when the ignition switch is turned off. If the output voltage is higher than 7 V when the ignition switch is turned off, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and set a DTC when the ignition switch is turned ON.

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN





* Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

* Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.

* Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the Clear DTC procedure) DTC Check / Clear.

* Turn the ignition switch off and turn the Techstream off.

* Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.

* Wait 5 seconds or more [A].

* Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.

* Input the DTC: P0657.

* Check the DTC judgment result [B].





HINT
If the judgment result shows ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.

* If the test result is UNKNOWN, enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes / Pending.

* Read Pending DTCs.

HINT
If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.

* If the test result is INCOMPLETE or UNKNOWN and no pending DTC is output, perform a universal trip and check for permanent DTCs DTC Check / Clear.

- If a permanent DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
- If no permanent DTC is output, the system is normal.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0657)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Clear the DTC DTC Check / Clear.

(e) Turn the ignition switch off.

(f) Disconnect the battery negative terminal and wait for 1 minute.

(g) Connect the battery negative terminal.

(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON for 10 seconds.

(i) Turn the ignition switch off.

(j) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(k) Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Code.

(l) Read the DTCs.
