DTC P0725 Engine Speed Input Circuit

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

DTC Detection Condition:

Transmission control ECU uses the NE signal to determine the engine speed and permit the gear position.

The transmission control ECU receives engine speed from the NE circuit. If open or short is detected in the NEO circuit, the transmission control ECU judges that the circuit malfunctions and records DTC P0335 in the transmission control ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT: Read freeze frame data using hand-held tester or OBD II scan tool, as freeze frame data records the engine conditions when a malfunction is detected. When troubleshooting, it is useful for determining whether the vehicle was running or stopped, the engine was warmed up or not, etc. at the time of the malfunction.
