Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes
NOTE: This is the only information provided by the manufacturer for reading diagnostic trouble codes for this system.NOTE: This article contains corrected data processed from TSB# PG001-05.
PRE-CHECK
1. DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM
a. As shown in the illustration, each ECU of this vehicle is connected by communication bus and it transmits each signal by communication. This communication bus is self-diagnosed by Body ECU and it memorizes DTC when it detects communication stop to ECU or communication bus +B short or GND short. There is a possibility that Body ECU cannot self-diagnose accurately unless it doesn't work normal. So, please note that the troubleshooting of Body Electrical System should be done after confirming if Body ECU and Open door indicator works normal by step 2. "BASIC INSPECTION" described below.
b. If DTC of ECU communication stop is output, there is a possibility of connector disconnection or 2 communication buses open. It will not become abnormal with only 1 communication bus open.
c. If 2 communication buses are open at the position as shown in the illustration, DTC of ECU communication stop between those 2 buses is output.

2. BASIC INSPECTION
3. DTC CHECK (Using diagnosis check wire)
a. Using SST, connect terminals Tc and CG of DLC3.
SST 09843-18020
b. Turn the ignition switch ON.
c. Read the DTC on the open door indicator light or the room light.
As an example, the blinking patterns for codes; normal, 12, and 11 and 12 are shown in the illustration.
d. Check for the problem using the DTC table in Trouble Code Descriptions.
e. After completing the check, turn the ignition switch off, and disconnect terminals Tc and E1.
4. DTC CHECK (Not using diagnosis check wire)
NOTICE: This procedure fails to be completed in the following situations: the operation cannot be completed within a prescribed time, the switch input more than a prescribed time is performed, or other switch input is performed.
a. Turn the ignition switch ON while all the doors closed, and then open the driver's seat door.
b. Within 10 seconds after turning the ignition switch OFF, turn the ignition switch ON (the key is in the lock cylinder) and OFF (the key is not in the lock cylinder) 5times.
c. After completing the operation (b), turn the ignition switch from the ACC position to the ON position 10 times.
d. After completing the operation (c), open and close the driver's seat door within 10 seconds.
As an example, the blinking patterns for codes; normal, 12, and 11 and 12 are shown in the illustration.
e. Check for the problem using the DTC table on the next page.
f. After completing the check, turn the ignition switch OFF.
5. DTC CLEARANCE
The DTC will be cleared when the trouble recovered normally.
