Installation








HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: FRONT AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL FRONT AIR CONDITIONING UNIT
(a) Temporarily tighten the air conditioning unit with the 3 bolts and 2 screws.
2. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY





(a) Connect the connector and clamp and install the wire harness.
(b) Install the instrument panel reinforcement.
(1) for Passenger Side:
Using a 12 mm hexagon wrench, install the 2 collars.
Torque: 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)
(2) for Passenger Side:
Using a T40 "TORX" socket, install the 2 "TORX" bolts.
Torque: 18 Nm (184 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)
(3) for Driver Side:
Install the 3 bolts and 2 caps.
(4) Install the instrument panel reinforcement with the 3 bolts and nut.

- for Nut

Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)









(c) Tighten the air conditioning unit with the 3 bolts and 2 screws.
- for Bolt

Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)
(d) Connect the connectors and clamps and install the wire harness.
(e) Install the ground wire with the bolt.
Torque: 8.4 Nm (86 kgf-cm, 74 in-lbf)









3. INSTALL NO. 1 ECU INTEGRATION BRACKET
(a) Install the ECU integration bracket with the bolt and nut.
(b) Connect the connectors and clamp.






4. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the turn signal flasher with the nut.
(b) Connect the connector.






5. INSTALL MAIN BODY ECU
(a) Install the main body ECU with the bolt and nut.
(b) Connect the connectors and clamp.






6. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 AIR DUCT
(a) Engage the 3 claws and install the air duct.






7. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 AIR DUCT
(a) Engage the 3 claws and install the air duct.
8. INSTALL TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY

9. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY

10. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 8 Speakers) Installation

11. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 14 Speakers) Installation

12. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column) Installation

13. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column) Installation







14. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
(a) Align the matchmarks on the steering column and install the steering intermediate shaft.
(b) Install the bolt.
Torque: 35 Nm (357 kgf-cm, 26 ft-lbf)
15. INSTALL NO. 3 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

16. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD INSERT Installation







17. INSTALL REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT
(a) Engage the 4 claws and install the air duct.
(b) Install the clip.






18. INSTALL REAR NO. 3 AIR DUCT
(a) Engage the 4 claws and install the air duct.
(b) Install the clip.
19. INSTALL STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (for 14 Speakers) Installation

20. INSTALL AUDIO AMPLIFIER COVER (for 14 Speakers) Installation

21. INSTALL FRONT RH SEAT ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) Installation

22. INSTALL SEAT TRACK OUTER COVER RH (for RH Side) Installation

23. INSTALL SEAT TRACK INNER COVER RH (for RH Side) Installation

24. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)
25. INSTALL FRONT LH SEAT ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) Installation

26. INSTALL SEAT TRACK OUTER COVER LH (for LH Side) Installation

27. INSTALL SEAT TRACK INNER COVER LH (for LH Side) Installation

28. INSTALL FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)
29. INSTALL FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY (for 14 Speakers) Installation

74. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Installation

75. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Installation







76. CONNECT HEATER WATER OUTLET HOSE A
(a) Connect the water hose onto the air conditioning unit.
NOTE: Perform the installation with the hose clip and mark at the correct angle.





77. CONNECT HEATER WATER INLET HOSE A
(a) Connect the water hose onto the air conditioning unit.
NOTE: Perform the installation with the hose clip and mark at the correct angle.





78. CONNECT COOLER REFRIGERANT LIQUID PIPE B
(a) Remove the attached vinyl tape from the pipe.
(b) Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the suction pipe.
Compressor oil:
ND-OIL 8 or equivalent
(c) Install the 2 O-ring on the suction pipe and liquid pipe.
(d) Move the hook connector in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration.
(e) Insert the pipe joint into the fitting hole securely and tighten the bolt.
Torque: 9.8 Nm (100 kgf-cm, 87 in-lbf)
79. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION

80. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION

81. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTE: When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

Torque: 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)
82. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for 3UR-FE) Service and Repair

83. ADD ENGINE COOLANT (for 2UZ-FE) Service and Repair

84. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for 3UR-FE) Testing and Inspection

85. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK (for 2UZ-FE) Testing and Inspection

86. CHARGE REFRIGERANT Service and Repair

87. WARM UP ENGINE Service and Repair

88. INSPECT FOR REFRIGERANT LEAK Service and Repair

89. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Replacement

90. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
(a) Inspect the SRS warning light Diagnosis System.
