3UR-FE INTAKE / EXHAUST: INTAKE MANIFOLD: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair







2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Raise the front of the V-bank cover to detach the 2 pins. Then remove the 2 V-bank cover hooks from the bracket, and remove the V-bank cover.






3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the vacuum hose and ventilation hose.
(b) Loosen the 2 clamps.
(c) Remove the air cleaner hose.
4. DISCONNECT VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY






(a) Disconnect the ventilation hose from the ventilation pipe of the cylinder head cover LH and RH.






5. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the No. 1 engine cover sub-assembly.






6. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE COVER
(a) Remove the No. 3 engine cover.
7. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD






(a) Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses.
(b) Disconnect the throttle W/ motor body connector.






(c) Disconnect the ventilation hose.






(d) Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector.
(e) Disconnect the purge line hose from the No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly.
(f) Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).






(g) Remove the 2 bolts.
(h) Disconnect the No. 1 tube from the union to connector tube hose, and move the hose aside.






(i) Disconnect the 3 wire clamps from the 3 wire harness clamp brackets.






(j) Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket from the intake manifold.






(k) Remove the 2 nuts, 8 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets.
8. REMOVE VENTILATION HOSE ASSEMBLY






(a) Remove the 2 bolts and ventilation hose from the intake manifold.
9. REMOVE NO. 1 V-BANK COVER BRACKET






(a) Remove the 2 bolts and bracket.
10. REMOVE V-BANK COVER BOLT






(a) Remove the 2 bolts from the intake manifold.
11. REMOVE THROTTLE W/MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY






(a) Remove the 4 bolts, throttle W/ motor body and gasket.
12. REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS)






(a) Disconnect the 2 vacuum hoses from the vacuum switching valve.
(b) Remove the bolt and vacuum switching valve.
13. REMOVE NO. 1 VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY






(a) Disconnect the purge line hose from the intake manifold.
(b) Remove the bolt and No. 1 vacuum switching valve assembly.






14. REMOVE UNION TO CONNECTOR TUBE HOSE
(a) Remove the tube hose from the intake manifold.






15. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 wire harness clamp brackets.
