Installation








WIPER / WASHER: FRONT WIPER MOTOR: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY






(a) Install the windshield wiper motor with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 7.0 Nm (71 kgf-cm, 62 in-lbf)






(b) Align the matchmarks on the crank arm and front wiper motor.
(c) Install the crank arm with the nut.
Torque: 7.0 Nm (71 kgf-cm, 62 in-lbf)






(d) Apply MP grease to the crank arm pivot of the wiper motor.
(e) Install the rod of the wiper link to the crank arm, as shown in the illustration.
2. INSTALL FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY






(a) Install the wiper motor and link assembly with the 4 bolts and nut.
Torque: 7.0 Nm (71 kgf-cm, 62 in-lbf)
(b) Connect the connector.
3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY






(a) Engage the 6 claws and 8 guides and install the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.
(b) Install the 2 clips.
4. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH






(a) Engage the claw and install the front fender to cowl side seal.
5. INSTALL FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH
HINT: Use the same procedure for both sides.

6. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH






(a) Clean any metal powder off the serrated part of the wiper arm with a round wire brush or the equivalent (when reinstalling).
(b) Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush.
(c) Operate the wiper, and then stop the wiper motor in the automatic stop position.






(d) Align the blade tip with the mark on the glass, as shown in the illustration.
HINT: Hold down the wiper arm hinge with your hand while tightening the nut.

(e) Tighten the nut on the front wiper arm and blade.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
(f) Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and there is no interference with the vehicle body.
7. INSTALL FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH






(a) Clean any metal powder off the serrated part of the wiper arm with a round wire brush or the equivalent (when reinstalling).

(c) Operate the wiper, and then stop the wiper motor in the automatic stop position.

(e) Tighten the nut on the front wiper arm and blade.
Torque: 20 Nm (204 kgf-cm, 15 ft-lbf)
(f) Operate the front wipers while spraying washer fluid on the windshield glass. Make sure that the front wipers function properly and there is no interference with the vehicle body.
