2UZ-FE FUEL: FUEL INJECTOR: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY
NOTICE:
- Be careful not to drop the injectors when installing the delivery pipes.
- Do not apply any load to the injector in the horizontal direction.





(a) Apply a light coat of gasoline to each new O-ring and install one to each injector.






(b) Install the 8 injectors.
(1) While turning each injector clockwise and counterclockwise, push it onto the delivery pipes.
(2) Position the injector connectors outward.
(c) Place 8 new insulators on the intake manifold.
2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
NOTE: Be careful not to drop the injectors when installing the delivery pipes.





(a) Place the 2 delivery pipes and injector assemblies on the lower intake manifold.
(b) Temporarily install the 4 nuts.
(c) Install the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly with the bolt, 4 new gaskets and 2 union bolts.
- for union bolt

Torque: 39 Nm (398 kgf-cm, 29 ft-lbf)
- for bolt

Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)






(d) Install the fuel return pipe with the 3 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)






(e) Connect the fuel return hose to the fuel pressure regulator.






(f) Check that the injectors rotate smoothly.
HINT: If the injectors do not rotate smoothly, a probable cause is the incorrect installation of the O-rings. Replace the O-ring of the injector that does not rotate smoothly.

(g) Position the injector connectors outward.
(h) Tighten the 4 nuts holding the delivery pipes to the lower intake manifold.
Torque: 21 Nm (214 kgf-cm, 16 ft-lbf)
(i) Connect the 8 injector connectors.
3. INSTALL ENGINE WIRE






(a) Install the 2 wire clamps on the engine wire to the brackets on the RH delivery pipe.
(b) Connect the engine wire clamps to the No. 1 engine hanger and engine wire bracket.
(c) Install the engine wire protector with the 2 bolts.






4. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the No. 2 fuel pipe sub-assembly Service Precautions.
HINT: Push the parts together firmly until a "click" sound is heard.
NOTICE:
- Before installing the tube connectors to the pipes, check if there is any damage or foreign matter in the connectors.
- After the connection, check if the connectors and pipes are securely connected by trying to pull them apart.





5. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the No. 1 fuel pipe sub-assembly.
HINT: Push the parts together firmly until a "click" sound is heard.
NOTICE:
- Before installing the tube connectors to the pipes, check if there is any damage or foreign matter in the connectors.
- After the connection, check if the connectors and pipes are securely connected by trying to pull them apart.





6. INSTALL EFI FUEL PIPE CLAMP
(a) Install the fuel pipe clamp.
7. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY COVER BRACKET
(a) Install the 2 throttle body cover brackets with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
8. CONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE
(a) Connect the No. 2 ventilation hose to the ventilation valve.

10. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

11. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK Testing and Inspection
