REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
Service Precautions
2. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH Removal

3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL RH Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER TO COWL SIDE SEAL LH Removal

6. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

7. REMOVE FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT COWL TOP OUTER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the washer hose.
(b) Separate the washer hose grommet from the front cowl top outer panel sub-assembly.
(c) Separate the wire harness clamp from the front cowl top outer panel sub-assembly.
(d) Remove the 7 bolts and front cowl top outer panel sub-assembly.

9. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Replacement

10. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

11. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and throttle body cover sub-assembly.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 throttle body cover brackets from the intake manifold.
12. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE ASSEMBLY Removal

13. DISCONNECT VACUUM HOSE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the vacuum hose assembly.
14. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE

(a) Disconnect the 2 water hoses from the No. 2 water by-pass pipe.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts.
(c) Disconnect the 2 water hoses and remove the No. 2 water by-pass pipe.
15. REMOVE EFI FUEL PIPE CLAMP
16. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

17. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

18. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the throttle body connector.
(b) Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses from the throttle body assembly.

(d) Disconnect the purge VSV connector.
(e) Disconnect the purge line hose from the purge VSV.

(f) Disconnect the vacuum switching valve assembly (for ACIS) connector.

(g) Disconnect the wire harness clamp from the engine hanger.
(h) Remove the bolt and wire harness bracket from the intake manifold assembly.

(i) Disconnect the 2 wire clamps.
(j) Disconnect the 8 injector connectors.

(k) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the engine wire protector.

(l) Remove the 6 bolts, 4 nuts, intake manifold assembly and 2 gaskets.
19. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the nut, 3 bolts, throttle body assembly and gasket.
20. REMOVE PURGE VSV

(a) Disconnect the purge line hose from the intake manifold assembly.
(b) Remove the bolt and purge VSV.
21. REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY (for ACIS) Removal

22. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
