VSC Off Indicator Light Remains On
BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: VSC OFF Indicator Light Remains ON
VSC OFF Indicator Light Remains ON
DESCRIPTION
If the skid control ECU stores any DTCs which relate to the VSC system, the VSC OFF indicator light comes on in the combination meter.
The skid control ECU is connected to the combination meter via the CAN communication system.
When the transfer mode is 4WD and the center differential locked, VSC control turns off and the VSC OFF indicator illuminates. The VSC OFF indicator light also comes ON when the VSC system is in the fail-safe mode.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTE: When replacing the VSC actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Programming and Relearning.
HINT: If the center differential cannot change from FREE to LOCK or LOCK to FREE, inspect and repair the touch select 2-4 and high-low system first.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output Diagnosis System.
Result
B -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (VSC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT)
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream ON.
(d) Select the Active Test mode and operate the VSC OFF indicator light using the Techstream.
ABS/VSC/TRAC
(e) Check that the VSC OFF indicator light turns on and off in the combination meter when using the Techstream.
OK:
The VSC OFF indicator light turns ON and OFF in accordance with the Techstream operation.
HINT: When the VSC OFF indicator light remains illuminated, there may be an open in the wire harness of the combination meter or abnormalities in the meter circuit.
NG -- GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH
(a) Remove the VSC OFF switch Removal.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPLACE VSC OFF SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - VSC OFF SWITCH)
(a) Disconnect the A19 ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the H29 switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE VSC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
