INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK WHETHER LIGHTS ILLUMINATE
(a) Check whether the following lights illuminate: front side marker lights, rear taillights, side marker lights and license plate light.
Result:

E -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT)
D -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU - LICENSE PLATE LIGHT AND BODY GROUND)
C -- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT)
B -- CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (TAILLIGHT RELAY)
A -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT FUSE (TAIL)
(a) Remove the TAIL fuse from the instrument panel junction block.
(b) Measure the resistance of the fuse.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (BATTERY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)

(a) Disconnect the IG instrument panel junction block connector.
(b) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU - HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH)

(a) Disconnect the E15 main body ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the E12 headlight dimmer switch connector.
(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (BATTERY - HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH)

(a) Connect the E15 main body ECU connector.
(b) Disconnect the E12 headlight dimmer switch connector.
(c) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:

NG -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the E12 headlight dimmer switch connector.
(b) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH

(a) Remove the headlight dimmer switch.
(b) Measure the resistance of the switch.
Standard resistance:

NG -- REPLACE HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH
OK -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK
8. CHECK INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK (TAILLIGHT RELAY)

(a) Disconnect the IB instrument panel junction block connector.
(b) Measure the voltage of the junction block.
Standard voltage:

NG -- REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK
OK -- Continue to next step.
9. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TAILLIGHT RELAY - FRONT SIDE MARKER LIGHT AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the A12 and A24 front side marker light connectors.
(b) Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance:

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE BULB
10. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT)

(a) Disconnect the K12 and K14 rear combination light connectors.
(b) Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connectors.
Standard voltage:

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT
11. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU - LICENSE PLATE LIGHT AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the Q6 license plate light connector.
(b) Measure the voltage and resistance of the wire harness side connector.
Standard voltage:

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE BULB
12. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT)

(a) Disconnect the K12 and K14 rear combination light connectors.
