2GR-FE COOLING: THERMOSTAT: INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL THERMOSTAT
(a) Install a new gasket to the thermostat.






(b) Install the thermostat with the jiggle valve facing upward.
HINT: The jiggle valve can be set to within 10° of either side of the upward position.

2. INSTALL WATER INLET






(a) Install the water inlet with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)
3. CONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE
4. INSTALL NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY






(a) Install the No. 2 idler pulley cover plate and No. 2 idler pulley with the bolt.
Torque: 43 Nm (438 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)
5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH Installation

6. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RH






(a) Install the engine mounting insulator RH with the 2 nuts and 5 bolts.
Torque: 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)
Torque: 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)
Torque: 52 Nm (530 kgf-cm, 38 ft-lbf)
7. INSTALL FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT Installation

8. INSTALL RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK






(a) Install the radiator reservoir with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5.0 Nm (51 kgf-cm, 44 in-lbf)
9. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER Installation

10. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation

11. ADD ENGINE COOLANT Service and Repair

12. INSPECT FOR COOLANT LEAK Testing and Inspection

13. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT RH Installation

14. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER REAR RH Installation

15. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER Installation

16. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL RH
