VSC OFF Indicator Light Does Not Come ON

VSC OFF Indicator Light does not Come ON

DESCRIPTION

Operation of the VSC OFF switch changes the vehicle from normal mode to TRAC OFF mode (AUTO LSD mode) to VSC OFF mode. During normal mode, pressing the VSC OFF switch for a short amount of time changes vehicle to TRAC OFF mode. When the vehicle is stopped, pressing the VSC OFF switch for 3 seconds or more changes the vehicle to VSC OFF mode. During VSC OFF mode, the combination meter's VSC OFF indicator light and slip indicator light illuminate, and VSC, TRAC and AUTO LSD operation is disabled.
Also, when the skid control ECU stores DTCs, VSC and TRAC operation is disabled, and the combination meter's VSC OFF indicator light blinks.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE: When replacing the master cylinder solenoid, perform zero point calibration Programming and Relearning.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT VSC OFF INDICATOR LIGHT
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Ground terminal WT of the skid control ECU.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(d) Check that the VSC OFF indicator light comes on.
OK:
VSC OFF indicator light comes on.
OK -- REPLACE MASTER CYLINDER SOLENOID
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - 4WD CONTROL ECU - TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR)

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - VSC OFF SWITCH) VSC OFF Indicator Light Remains ON

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT VSC OFF SWITCH VSC OFF Indicator Light Remains ON

NG -- REPLACE VSC OFF SWITCH
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER)





(a) Disconnect the combination meter connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
(a) Check the combination meter system Meter / Gauge System.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
OK -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
