DTC P1116: Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Performance at Engine SoakingSystem Description
ECM monitors ECT sensor to ensure that temperature has dropped to environmental temperature. After 5 hours (using timer module) from engine stop, the system wakes up ECM and measures ECT and IAT signal. If difference between ECT and IAT is more than the criteria, ECM will set DTC.

DTC Confirmation Procedure
WARNING:
- When performing a road test, select a place where there is no traffic or possibility of a traffic accident and very careful during testing to avoid occurrence of an accident.
- Road test should be carried out with 2 persons, a driver and a tester, on a level road.
1. With ignition switch turned OFF, connect scan tool.
2. Turn ignition switch to ON position, clear DTC if any.
3. Start engine and warm up to normal operating temperature.
4. Drive vehicle more than 37 mph (60 km/h) for 15 min.
5. Stop vehicle and run engine at idle speed for 1 min.
6. Turn ignition switch to OFF position and leave for 6 hours.
7. Check DTC and pending DTC by using scan tool.
