Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement (Left)

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover

Removal Procedure




1. Disconnect data link connector from the instrument panel.




2. Use the J 38778 in order remove the LH instrument panel insulator retainers from the steering column opening filler panel.




3. Disconnect the courtesy lamp from the instrument panel insulator by turning 1/4 turn counterclockwise.




4. Remove the LH instrument panel insulator from the stud at the accelerator pedal.
5. Remove the LH instrument panel insulator.

Installation Procedure

1. Position the LH instrument panel insulator to the instrument panel.




2. Install the courtesy lamp to the instrument panel insulator then rotate 1/4 turn clockwise to secure.




3. Install the LH instrument panel insulator to the stud at the accelerator pedal.




4. Install the LH instrument panel insulator retainers to the steering column opening filler panel.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Connect data link connector to the instrument panel.

Tighten the data link connector bolts to 2 Nm (18 lb in).
