Front Bumper Fascia Replacement

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

Notice: When removing body panels, apply tape to corners of panel and adjacent surfaces to help prevent paint damage.

1. Remove the headlight assemblies. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
2. Raise and suitably support the front of the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair) in General Information.
3. Remove the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
4. Remove the screws which secure the front fender liner to the front bumper fascia.




5. Remove the bolts which secure the front bumper fascia to the front fender.




6. Remove the bolts which secure the front bumper fascia to the radiator air baffle.




7. Use J 38778 in order to remove the push-in retainers from the lower support of the front bumper fascia.




8. Remove the bolt from the upper support of the front bumper fascia.




9. Use J 38778 in order to remove the push-in retainers which secure the front bumper fascia to the upper support.




10. Remove the front bumper fascia from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the front bumper fascia to the vehicle




2. Install the push-in retainers which secure the front bumper fascia to the upper support.




3. Install the push-in retainers which secure the front bumper fascia to the lower support.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




4. Install the bolts which secure the front bumper fascia to the front fender.

Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




5. Install the bolts which secure the front bumper fascia to the radiator air baffle.

Tighten the bolts to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

6. Install the screws which secure the front bumper fascia to the front fender liner.

Tighten the screws to 2 Nm (18 lb in).

7. Install the headlight assemblies. Refer to Headlamp Assembly or Headlamp Bulb and/or Cornering, Sidemarker, Park, Turn Signal Bulb Replacement in Lighting Systems.
8. Install the front tire and wheel assemblies. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
9. Lower the vehicle.
10. Remove any protective tape applied during the removal procedure.
