Wiring Schematic:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
This circuit supplies power from the Body Function Controller (BFC) to the Passlock(R) Sensor, Circuit 1459.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
All of the following conditions must be met:
^ Passlock(R) Power is active
^ The Passlock(R) Power feedback is not present for I second.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ Turn OFF the Passlock(R) power as long as a current fault code is set.
^ Stores DTC B2947 in the Body Function Controller (BFC) memory.
^ Vehicle will not start.
^ Vehicle will start but SECURITY indicator will remain illuminated.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ The Body Function Controller (BFC) goes to sleep and reinitializes with the fault cleared.
^ All Body Function Controller (BFC) history codes will be cleared after 100 ignition cycles (from OFF to RUN) with no current codes active during the 100 ignition cycles.
^ Using a scan tool.
DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
^ When the diagnostics direct you to take electrical measurements at the Wiring Harness Junction Blocks , refer to Power Distribution, in Electrical Diagnosis, for terminal assignments of the Wiring Harness Junction Blocks
^ If the DTC is a history DTC, the problem may be intermittent. Try performing the tests shown while wiggling wiring and connectors, this can often cause the malfunction to appear.
TEST DESCRIPTION
The numbers below refer to the numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. This step determines if there is a short to ground in circuit 1459 between the Body Function Controller (BFC) and the Passlock(R) Sensor.
