INSPECTION PROCEDURE FOR TROUBLE SYMPTOMS INSPECTION PROCEDURE 2 Up to 1995 models





Caution
1. After the ignition switch has been placed at the LOCK position and the negative (-) terminal of the battery has been disconnected, wait for more than 60 seconds before starting work. Wind a tape around the disconnected (-) terminal for insulation.





2. Remove the SRS-ECU connector lock by the following procedure.
If there is no notch in the connector lock lever (Type 1), place a flat tip screwdriver against the lock spring (metal section) of the connector lock lever as shown in the illustration, and push the spring horizontally toward the inside of the unit.

1. Do not use excessive force to raise the lock lever.

2. Do not insert the screwdriver into the gap between the lock lever and the lock spring.





If there is a notch in the connector lock lever (Type 2), place a flat tip screwdriver against the lock spring (metal section) at the lock lever notch as shown in the illustration, and push the spring toward the unit.

- Do not use excessive force to raise the lock lever.
