DTC 05

1. Run engine at 2500 RPM for one minute and, if code 5 is still displayed, observe green light on system checker.
2. If green light is illuminated, there is an air leak in the intake system or there is insufficient fuel injection.
3. If green light is not illuminated, check spark plugs cleaning and/or replacing as necessary.
4. If spark plugs are satisfactory, check O2 sensor generation voltage. Refer to ``Component Testing.''
5. If voltage is not within specifications, replace O2 sensor.
6. If voltage is within specifications, check voltage at ``2D'' terminal of EGI control unit.
7. If voltage is not within specifications, check for open or short circuit in wiring harness from O2 sensor connector to EGI control unit.
8. If voltage is within specifications, EGI control unit is defective.
