DTC Inspection

DTC INSPECTION [Bluetooth SYSTEM (HANDS-FREE TELEPHONE (HF/TEL) SYSTEM)]

NOTE:
- All DTCs displayed in the DTC inspection should be entered in the Audio Repair Order Form.
- Malfunction diagnosis using the M-MDS is performed only on vehicles with the audio unit display and Bose(R).

Audio Unit

Using the M-MDS

1. Connect the M-MDS (IDS) to the DLC-2.






2. After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the IDS.

- Select "Self Test".
- Select "Modules".
- Select "ACU".

3. Verify the DTC according to the directions on the screen.

- If any DTCs are displayed, perform troubleshooting according to the corresponding DTC inspection.

4. After completion of repairs, clear all DTCs stored in the Bluetooth unit. Clearing DTC

Without using M-MDS (on-board diagnostic test mode)

With display
- Turn ignition switch to ACC or ON position.
- While pressing the POWER/VOLUME switch, simultaneously press the Selection switch 1 and the Selection switch 6 for 3 s or more.





- When Selection switch 3 is pressed, the display changes to the present malfunction DTC screen where the device codes and errors codes appearing for the currently occurring malfunction are displayed.





- When Selection switch 4 is pressed, the display changes to the past malfunction DTC screen where device codes and error codes appearing for past malfunctions are displayed, together with the number of times the ignition switch has been switched off from the time a malfunction occurred.






NOTE:
- If several DTCs are in the memory, they can be displayed using the SEEK/TRACK switch (up or down).

- To stop the on-board diagnostic test mode, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

Without display
- Turn ignition switch to ACC or ON position.
- Turn the audio unit power to OFF.
- While pressing the POWER/VOLUME switch, simultaneously press the Preset switch 1 and the Preset switch 6 for 3 s or more.






NOTE:
- If several DTCs are in the memory, they can be displayed using the SEEK/TRACK switch (up or down).

- To stop the on-board diagnostic test mode, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

Car-navigation Unit

1. Turn ignition switch to ACC or ON position.

2. Turn the audio power to OFF.

3. While pressing the POWER/VOLUME button, simultaneously press the DISP button for 0.2 s or more.






4. While pressing the detail switch.






5. To stop the on-board diagnostic test mode, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
