Test B: The Adjustable Brake Pedal Does Not Operate Correctly

Pinpoint Test B: The Adjustable Brake Pedal Does Not Operate Correctly

Normal Operation
The adjustable pedal memory function utilizes a potentiometer located in the adjustable pedal motor. The driver seat module (DSM) supplies a reference voltage on circuit 891 (RD/BK) to the potentiometer and grounds the signal return on circuit 894 (GY) from the potentiometer. The signal voltage on circuit 1491 (LB/YE) from the adjustable pedal potentiometer to the DSM provides an indication to the DSM of whether or not the adjustable pedal motor is stalled. When the driver sets a pedal position in the DSM, it stores the value of where the adjustable pedal is located using a time frame of motor operation. When the driver requests a return to a pedal position in memory, the DSM operates the adjustable pedal motor until the adjustable pedal potentiometer output matches the time frame stored in the memory.

Possible Causes
^ circuit 891 (RD/BK) open or short to ground
^ circuit 894 (GY) open or short to ground
^ circuit 1491 (LB/YE) open or short to ground
^ adjustable pedal potentiometer
^ DSM
